Through regular assessment and careful diagnosis, our Learning Enhancement team identifies students who have gaps in their learning journey and embark on the best path forward to address these challenges. We are seeking an experienced Learning Assistant to work within our Middle and Senior school within the Learning Enhancement Department.
The position is a Fixed Term Full Time – FTE 1.0 鈥 One year contract and is available for an immediate start.
Responsibilities
- Implementing programs and Interventions with small groups of individual students within the Middle and Senior School (Year 6-12)
- Working with a range of students to support student outcomes
- Informing relevant staff of progress or concerns about the pupils they work with
- Implementing relevant strategies to support the outcomes of those with special educational needs and disabilities
- Present as a visible part of teaching during each phase within the Teaching and Learning Model (TLM)
- Participating in Program Support Group Meeting, sharing feedback and observations with the families
- Communicating with the Maths and Language and Literature teachers and the Learning Enhancement team to support skill development in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy
- Contribute to the monitoring of skill acquisition and recording of intervention participation
- Participation in intervention training.
Qualifications and Skills
- Recognised Victorian Working with Children Check registration is mandatory
- Certificate IV in School Based Education Support
- Experience working with students with diverse needs
- A solid understanding of curriculum content taught from year 6-12
- An understanding of the Middle Years Program (MYP) is preferable
